Prior, Ryan was an auto mechanic and custom metal fabricator and his involvement with real estate began in 2012 with a rural bank-sale property, quickly followed by a series of deals including buy and holds, fix and flips, multi-family and new construction. The progression from these initial properties and subsequent resale led to fantastic experiences that propelled the concept of “vertical split” homes into the marketplace. The most interesting deal was a coach house that got national exposure on the news.

Michael Green is a successful house flipper, is the host of The Flip Factor podcast and has completed over 1100 deals. But at one point in time, this success was just a teenage boy’s dream. At the age of fifteen, prompted by late-night infomercials, Michael bought the book No Money Down by Carlton Sheets, which planted the seed of eventually becoming a house
flipper.

Michael Green is a successful house flipper, is the host of The Flip Factor podcast and has completed over 1100 deals. But at one point in time, this success was just a teenage boy’s dream. At the age of fifteen, prompted by late-night infomercials, Michael bought the book No Money Down by Carlton Sheets, which planted the seed of eventually becoming a house
flipper.
But the road to success wasn’t always easy. Growing up next to the projects in Baltimore, Michael found himself getting into trouble, and his relationship with his dad was built on breaking the law.
At 17, Michael found himself thrown into a paddy wagon with handcuffs around his wrists. Faced with a four-year jail sentence and a cold, uncomfortable prison cell, with terrible food, scratchy blankets and no freedom, Michael had a lot of time to think. He thought about how if his life up to that point were a house, it would be a broken-down, boarded-up house. His negative patterns and limiting beliefs had eaten away at his foundation like hungry termites. Michael could either continue these patterns and let his life crumble around him, or he could step up and fix it.
So he got to work on his first flip – himself
He started out as a flooring installer and in 2008 he was doing a job for a gentleman flipping houses named Jason Shara. Sensing his curiosity and interest in the industry, he invited Michael to a free meeting for house flippers. At this meeting, Michael was introduced to his first mentor. After just a few months of studying under his mentor, he made his first deal flipping a house for $16,000 without a single penny of his money.
For the next year, he continued doing flips and made a total of $106,459 and in 2009 he was able to leave his full-time job and has been flipping houses ever since
Michael believes that the key to success in the house flipping industry is being open to investing in personal growth and seeing the potential in something that’s a little broken-down and rough around the edges, even if others may have given up on it. This includes seeing the potential in oneself.
After learning this, Michael has scaled two houses flipping businesses and flipped over 1100 houses in the last ten years and achieved the success he’d never believed was possible. He finds the most rewarding part of his career to be helping others make profound changes from the inside out and achieving financial freedom. When he’s not flipping houses or giving back, Michael can be found travelling, attempting to surf, and most recently, learning how to hike.

After graduating as an Occupational Therapist, Evelyn Lamarsh began researching all the different ways to make money and settled on real estate. 2 years later, at age 26, she bought her first two rental properties and then bought a house for herself.

She didn’t get to live there very long though, because her neighbour, Mike, fell in love with the Girl Next Door and they were married in no time! She made the big move next door and her house became another rental.
Fast forward a few years with a steady focus of adding one property at a time in their market of Hamilton they now have 10 properties, all buy and holds. 5 are student rentals and 5 are single-family homes, one of which they have recently switched to an Air BnB.
Eveyln’s love of her vocation means she will return to her community mental health support role in the fall from maternity leave, not from a need for the paycheque but because she loves helping others. However, their success has meant Mike has been able to retire, at the age of 30, from the tough, dirty life as an auto mechanic and switch those trade skills repairing or upgrading almost everything that their properties need.
Evelyn and Mike are at the moment taking a break from collecting homes and make more time for cycling, canoeing and chilling in their boat as well as parents to two very young children.

Michael Rosehart is a 25-year-old early retired, self-made millionaire (Canada’s Youngest!), with a young family, who unlocked financial independence at the age of 24 through Real Estate investing and extreme frugality. In fact, he has never paid to live anywhere since age 18.
Initially involved in stock trading, after applying to 7 banks one took a leap of faith and he bought his first property at the age of 19 (early in 2012), while still in university studying business finance. He has worked on most types of real estate investment projects and by 2017 had scaled up to build a property portfolio that cash-flowed over $12,000 per month (net) in London, Ontario, Canada. He sold a number of houses when he retired and then established a property management company, a construction company and currently has 55 buildings and overall has worked on 70 major projects.
Mike worked in a variety of jobs from Analyst, Senior Consulting Analyst, and then finally as a Manager in a new division he helped start, within the Research & Advisory practice, at one of the world’s fastest-growing mid-sized IT Research & Advisory firms. He has also held roles previously in government, financial services & banking, education (university), and in accounting at KPMG.
Mike is obsessed with all things personal finance.
