Creative financing is the key for investors in expanding their Real Estate portfolios. There is also an opportunity for passive investors to lend their money and make a great return on their investment.

She founded Porte Rouge, a fee-only advanced financial consulting company, that is rooted in the foundation that finance is a group sport. She and her team offer solutions that bridge the gap for real estate investors in the financial services industry.

Why mentoring can be key to growing your portfolio

This week’s podcast guest is Vinny Singh, Real Estate Investor.

In this week’s episode, we learn about investing in mix-use properties, and how their return is greater than other strategies. The importance of hiring a mentor before you invest, and how it saves your money and time. How Vinny is using his networking skills to grow his portfolio, and how joint venture partnerships can be beneficial. We also dive into why Vinny focuses on purchasing value add properties and many other great insights!

In 2020 when the pandemic hit, Vinny realized his lack of financial freedom with his current job. He then dove into educating himself on financial freedom and Real Estate. He purchased his first single-family home in Mississauga and 5 months later purchased his second property in Brampton. The hurdle Vinny faced was they did not cash flow. He then started to listen to the REITE Club podcast and started to understand real estate investment and cash flow.

Vinny then decided to invest in himself and seek out a mentor, to help him on the path to financial freedom. While working with Sarah Larbi as his mentor Vinny was able to find his first BRRRR property in Welland, Ontario. Sarah helped him find the contractor and gave the advice to rent out the garage, that was instant cash coming in while the construction was going on, and helped with his holding cost.

His portfolio was maxed out in terms of financing until, after working with Sarah, he was able to secure a lender that would work with him to continue growing his portfolio. Vinny is currently working on ways to scale his portfolio, network, and grow as an investor.

Managing your expectations and budget when renovating

Matt and Laura are serial entrepreneurs and own a civil landscape construction company in Stouffville and a small HR consulting business.
